Currency Transaction Reports (CTRs) can be a challenge as there are specific ways certain sections and fields must be completed. Part III of the CTR is devoted to the Transaction Location and the information to be reported is, just is its name implies, about the locations where the reportable cash transactions occurred. If the transactions were conducted as multiple locations, then you will need to fill out multiple Part IIIs. Some of the information required to be reported includes: the type of financial institution, legal name of financial institution, address information, financial institution ID type and ID number (aka the RSSD number), cash in/out amount for the location, etc. It’s important to note that the information reported in this section is to be specific to that location and could differ from other information reported in other sections of the CTR.
