Effective compliance training is all about presenting information in a way that people can understand it and retain it. Training typically isn’t a skill that comes naturally to a lot of compliance officers and it takes some practice. Regulatory compliance, in particular, can be pretty boring at times and so finding ways to engage the audience is key. The more interactive a presentation is, the better. We find that trainers often rely too heavily on their presentation slides. We believe they should supplement a presentation, not be the presentation. People don’t want to sit in a training session and read slides; they want to hear it from the expert…you!
