What’s the Purpose Behind Consumer Privacy (Regulation P)?

Regulation P (aka the Privacy rules) has been around for a little over 20 years. While there have been a few regulatory changes that have thrust it back into the limelight over the years, the purpose remains the same. Providing the privacy notice has become more automated in that it typically prints out with your account-opening disclosures. That is one reason these rules can and do get overlooked.
