The last month has been a little chaotic and while not a lot has impacted the banking industry directly, there was one big development in that virtually all work at the CFPB was stopped. While President Trump and others in his Administration have expressed their wish to do away with the CFPB completely, we don’t necessarily think that will happen. Even if the CFPB were to go away, there will still be supervision and enforcement that comes from somewhere.
Our advice is to keep doing what you are doing and stay the course. Regulatory requirements have not changed at this point in time.
