The Role of the Compliance Officer: Reporting Information

Written by David Dickinson | Nov 6, 2023 7:38:25 PM

We like to refer to Compliance Officers as being the “conduit of information” in a financial institution. They collect information, interpret information, and disseminate that information to a variety of sources. That might include your employees, management, the Board and even your examiners. Keeping those lines of communication open and flowing back and forth are essential to an effective Compliance Management System (CMS). Communicate, communicate, communicate.

David explains more in the video.

Video Highlights:

  • Winning organizations have a culture of communication which requires constant dissemination of information.
  • Compliance Officers must continually communicate, even if giving the same message over and over, to ensure it is understood.
  • It takes hearing something seven times for it to sink in. Communication is key.
