TRID: Completing Section C of the Closing Disclosure

One thing that sometimes causes confusion in connection with TRID disclosures is shopping. Specifically, Sections B and C under Loan Costs on the Loan Estimate (LE) refer to “Services You Cannot Shop For” and “Services You Can Shop For”. When you get to the Closing Disclosure (CD), however, these sections are titled “Services Borrower Did Not Shop For” and “Services Borrower Did Shop For”. In other words, the LE tells them which services they can/can’t shop for and the CD tells them what actually occurred with regard to shopping.
