FFIEC has announced

While these files aren’t necessarily fun to read, they do give you an opportunity to sit down and look at your data objectively to see what, if anything, may stand out.

It also gives you the opportunity to look at data from institutions similar in size, location, etc., and compare their data to yours.

If there’s something that does catch your eye, chances are it’s going to jump out at someone else as well. It’s always a good idea to look at your data and have additional information available that the LAR may not provide. For example, to explain interest rate discrepancies, denials, etc.

There is seemingly no end to the complexities of HMDA Data, regardless of whether you’re a “small” or “large” filer. We want to help! Join us for HMDA Data for Large Filers or HMDA Data for Small Filers.
