2017 Regulation Z Threshold

The threshold to exempt consumer credit from Regulation Z will be $54,600 for 2017. This remains unchanged from 2016. This means that any consumer credit transaction greater than $54,600 is NOT subject to Regulation Z requirements. However, private education loans, loans secured by any real property and/or loans secured by personal property used (or expected to be used) as the consumer’s principal dwelling ARE subject to the Truth in Lending Act regardless of the amount of the loan.
