HMDA Guide: GIR Updated

The FFIEC recently posted the 2022 Edition of its publication, A Guide to HMDA Reporting: Getting It Right!. While it doesn’t appear many updates were made, it does include the adjusted loan-volume threshold for reporting open-end lines of credit, which took effect January 1, 2022. As a reminder, you’re an open-end reporter if you originated at least 200 reportable open-end lines of credit in each of the prior two calendar years.

This Guide provides a good summary of the HMDA data collection, reporting, and disclosure requirements but isGuide not intended to be a substitution for the Regulation and/or Commentary or the FFIEC’s Filing Instruction Guide (FIG), which are the “definitive” sources for the HMDA requirements.
