New Flood Insurance Q&As Finalized

On May 11, 2022, the Agencies released revised and reorganized Flood Insurance Q&As, 144 of them to be exact! The Q&As address some areas that have changed since they were first put together, such as:

  • Escrow Requirements;
  • Detached Structure Exemptions;
  • Force-Placement; and,
  • Private Flood Insurance.

Cross-collateralization and its effect on flood insurance have been a hot topic for about a year now, especially if you are an FDIC-regulated institution. While the Q&As don’t come right out and address the cross-collateralization point-blank, they do in a roundabout sort of way.
