SAFE Act: Initial Registration

The SAFE Act requires Mortgage Loan Originators (MLOs) to be licensed and registered. The registration process must be completed using the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) and each MLO must obtain a unique identifier (an NMLS #). If you are new to this process, it’s important to know the types of information you will be expected to input into the system for that initial MLO registration.
