9/11: 25 Years Later

The 9/11 attacks left an indelible mark on our country that is still felt today…25 years later. In the aftermath, our country had to reevaluate a lot of things, including deficiencies within our financial system. The USA PATRIOT Act, which brought us the Customer Identification Program (CIP) and other changes, was one of the first steps.

We would love to have you join us for a “special edition” of our Monthly Connection on Friday, September 11th to reflect on the impact to the banking industry and where we are now. Topics include:

  • 25th Anniversary – How 9/11 Has Impacted Banking
  • Joint Statement on Suspicious Activity Report Confidentiality Regarding Communications with Customers
  • The Evolution of Knowing Your Customer (KYC)
  • The AML/CFT Independent Audit

We can all agree that BSA/AML/CFT Programs look much different now than they did back in 2001. A robust program benefits financial institutions, as well as the customers they serve. Kevin discussed this during our August AML/CFT Membership Group meeting:
