The Job of a Compliance Officer – One of the Best

If you know me or have been around me much lately you’d know that I am trying to throw as much positive energy into the world of compliance as I possibly can.  There are too many compliance professionals with a doom and gloom mentality and it gets depressing after awhile.  I truly believe these are exciting times in the banking industry.

Way back when, I just fell into a job in compliance.  At that time, I only saw compliance as “getting my foot in the door” or a stepping-stone to something even better.  Today, I consider it to be one of the best things to have ever happened to me.  I am blessed with a passion to do something that I love and to serve the compliance needs of others.

I wanted to pass along something I read; which I think is very cool.  It’s just a little reminder of how exciting it is to be involved in regulatory compliance in today’s environment.  A few months ago, CNN reported that a job as a compliance officer is the 35th best job in America.  To me, this just screams, “Compliance officers you are valuable!”  CNN’s recognition and job security, it doesn’t get much better than that.  Now that’s something to be excited about!
