President Trump’s Executive Order (EO), “Promoting Access to Mortgage Credit” seeks to promote mortgage credit by easing the regulatory burdens placed on community banks ($30 billion or less in assets) and “smaller banks” ($100 billion or less in assets). To achieve this the EO called for changes to the requirements related to Ability to Repay (ATR)/Qualified Mortgage (QM), TILA/RESPA Integrated Disclosure Rules (TRID), mortgage servicing, right of rescission, HMDA data collection and reporting, appraisals and a lot more.
